Today however I noticed a letter addressed to me from a company called Domain Registry of America. It was about my domain expiring in the next few months and asking if I wanted to switch to them. I figured since I didnt have too much to do today, I would check it out. I went to their website and looked around. At first glance their prices seem a bit expensive but then I noticed that web hosting is also included. Not bad. Actually it’s cheaper than what I pay right now, but I’m in the mind set that if it ain’t broken don’t fix it. I am however thinking of starting up a new site so maybe i’ll give them a try.

Normally, most domainers would say the .ca TLD would not be the best TLD to develop but we intend to show that any Top Level Domain with good category keywords in the domain can be developed and have a good search engine ranking. In the next few posts we will outline our steps on how we intend to build and monetize the site. We chose cliffjumping.ca because the domain keywords were specific enough to garner us a decent search engine ranking in a not so saturated market. The term “cliff jumping” pulls up 716,000 results at google.ca which is a decent number to work with. Below is an outline of the steps we will take to develp the domain.

Find and implement a good template design for the site.

Add enough relevant content to get the site indexed.

Submit the site to Google, Yahoo, and MSN

Add Google Adsense ads.

Set up Google Webmaster Tools

Keep adding content

We will keep you updated on our progress as it happens.
